ISR Week 1

24 Feb

Hello, hello! It has been too long. I have some updates.

Ella started swim lessons this past Monday. She is throughly enjoying them much to my relief. She is learning how to float this first week. She is also learning how to close her mouth when water goes up the sides of her head. The second day in, she was so proud of herself when she started to float that she started clapping and squealing. Well, anyone who has ever floated before knows that clapping isnt very condusive to floating. 🙂 There could be worse problems. Ella is doing great so far. She is really picking it up and learning much faster than I ever imagined she would. She is floating a little bit on her own already. She made a few mistakes and tried to roll at todays lesson. The ISR intructor, Barb, let her make the mistake (I love that mentality) to learn from it. She was underwater for a bit but managed to get herself flipped over and up with just a little bit of help. She didn’t the least upset or surprised when she came back up. I wasnt nervous at all. I thought I would be going into it when we got to that point of her being underwater. I think it has to do with the safety precautions that they take and I also 100% trust the instructor. I love how happy Ella is in the lessons. I know she might not be as happy when Barb begins to challenge her even more but, for now, I will enjoy her squeals and splashes. I HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone with a kid. They can do it starting when they sit up. When they start walking they can take lessons to do the more advaced, swim-float techniques.

Ella has started, very slowly, not utlizing her two fingers as much as she used to. I wonder if she is giving it up. She used to have those fingers in her mouth all of the time. Literally. Now she just does it under extreme circumstances. She isnt giving up those loveies though. No way!

Jason got a new car tonight in an effort to get something a little more sporty and cheaper. He got a Mitsubishi Evo. Im not sure how I feel about it yet. I like the car for itself. Its sport, much more him than the BMW was, and feel good and powerful. The only thing I dont like about it is that it is the competitor to the STI. I feel like there will always be a special little place in my heart for that silly STI. It just had so much character. That little Blueberry was something. I cant fully accept the Evo without feeling like I am being disloyal to the STI. I sometimes wonder where it ended up. Here are some pictures of Ella and I car shopping. She is entertained by me taking pictures of us so I tend to have a lot of those on my phone.

Ella is developing leaps an bounds. Today, at the dealership, she saw a stuffed animal stuffed on the top of a sign. She was practically crawling out of my arms to get it. She is becoming so much more curious and interactiv with her surroundings. I love it. Its very fun. No, she did not get the stuffed animal. We are working on delayed satisfaction and patience. Somehow that all went down the drain when she reached over and grabbed a handful of my rice at dinner. It was too cute to scold her. Jason got on me. Haha! Shes adorable. I know I am biased but I think Sham Sham, Megan, Britt and all her Grandparents would agree. (Those are the only people that I think actually read this blog. ) 🙂

Im getting all geared up for the cruise! I can not wait. I had wondeful dreams about the last cruise we went on for months after the cruise. It was delightful. I already have tons of adorable clothes for Ella. My mom likes to call it her “resort wear collection”. Im sure there will be many many pictures of it on here of her. Im going to try and write a lot about our cruise while I am on it becuase I will be doing a lot of sitting around while Ella is napping. Who am I kidding? I will be napping right with her. Its going to be so much fun. We stay a night in New Orleans the day before we board. That should be tons of fun. Maybe Ella can show off her skills in the hotel pool if I can man up and get in the community bath water. 🙂

Well, I hope my readers feel updated. If you have any questions, please ask.

Ella doesnt have any teeth. Still. She is also eating like a champ still. She ate her own serving of MooGooGi Pan (hows that for a guess at spelling?) tonight and ate her own taco at Chipotle for lunch. She’s mighty awesome.
